W dniu dzisiejszym Canonical wdrożył sterownik AMD Catalyst 15.3 beta, jako standardowy sterownik dla układów Radeon także w Ubuntu/Kubuntu 14.04.x LTS. Oznacza to, że osoby korzystające z kerneli Premium z linii v40.x [Linux-4.0.x] otrzymały sterownik niezgodny z w/w kernelami, co skutkuje brakiem możliwości budowy modułu kernela. Podobna sytuacja występuje w Ubuntu/Kubuntu 15.04. Na tę chwilę nie mogę wypuścić własnego buildu sterowników Catalyst 15.3, ze względu na fakt, iż nadal AMD nie udostępniło publicznie tego sterownika [to tylko 'exclusive' dla Canonical]. W związku z tym przedstawiamy tu rozwiązanie na teraz - skrypt nakładający zebrane przeze mnie patche dla w/w sterownika. Oczywiście zakładam, ze macie zainstalowany sterownik fglrx-15.200 z repozytorium Canonical. Uwaga skrypt nie przewiduje możliwości instalacji na sterowniku "updates". Poniższe zestawienie komend konsoli wklejamy i zatwierdzamy przez [Enter]:

Nastąpi nałożenie patcha i budowa nowego modułu, po restarcie już możemy cieszyć się nowym sterownikiem. W związku z faktem, iż mamy tu mechanizm dkms, każdy koleiny kernel z linii v40.0.x otrzyma już prawidłowy moduł.
Today, Canonical has implemented a driver AMD Catalyst 15.3 beta, as a standard driver for Radeon chips, also in Ubuntu / Kubuntu LTS 14.04.x. This means that people using Premium kernels from the v40.x line [Linux-4.0.x], received a incompatible driver, that resulting in the inability to build a kernel module. A similar situation exists in Ubuntu / Kubuntu 15.04. At this moment I can not build my own release of Catalyst 15.3 drivers, due to the fact that AMD still does not have publicly this driver [it's just exclusive for Canonical]. Therefore, we present here the solution for now - the script overlapping gathered by me patches for that driver. Of course, I assume that you have installed the driver fglrx-15.200 from Canonical repository. Please note that the script does not allow for the installation to the "updates" drivers. The following list of commands paste to the konsole and confirm by [Enter]:

There will be applying the patch and building a new module, after a reboot we can now enjoy the new driver. Due to the fact that we have a mechanism dkms, will be build correct module for each other kernel from line v40.0.x .
